When you order a table,
The dial plate is bored for the number of stations required, whether even or odd indexing (See specifications for minimum degrees between stations). Since the two shot pins are 180 degrees apart, odd indexing requires a bushing 180 degrees from each indexing location. Any station or number of stations can be missed by simply removing the cam button of the dial plate which corresponds to that station.
(Ex. – 3 indexes require 6 station, which could also be used for 2 or 6 indexes).
The dual shot pins, 180 degrees apart, provide the accuracy of the dial plate. Combined with Hydro-Clamp, the top plate is securely held in location while the work for that station is performed. The hollow steel center post (1 1/4″ hole) can be used for piping air, oil, or coolant to the fixtures or the work pieces. The Hydro-Lift actually lifts the dial plate slightly so that the index table can carry a heavy load without dragging.
The deceleration unit will slow down the table just before the final location. This permits smoother indexing and better repeatability, making the table more suitable for larger dial plates.
SEQUENCE OF OPERATION
Hydraulics provide the power to the indexing table (500 psi @3 gpm). The sequence of operation starts when two solenoids open, which lowers the shot pins and, at the same time, lifts the dial plate clear. The table rotates at normal speed until the cam button hits the first limit switch. This slows the motion of the table. When the cam button hits the second limit switch the hydraulic motor shuts off, the table stops, the table lowers, and the shot pins raise. The dial plate is then clamped to the bearing ring and the shot pins locate firmly in the bushings, giving the table its exact location. The index table remains clamped until the signal is given to start the next cycle.
